New rules for guarantees of origin of electricity effective from January 1, 2020 |
3/8/2019
Our new project for OKTE, a.s. (Slovak electricity market operator) will ensure the implementation of information system for register of guarantees of origin for electricity generated from renewable energy sources (RES) and highly efficient combined heat and power plants (CHP).
The recent legal reform of the support system for RES and highly efficient CHP has shifted the responsibility for register of guarantees of origin to short-term electricity market operator, effective from January 1, 2020. The electronic issuance, transfers, application and cancellation of guarantees of origin will be implemented in accordance to the standards of the European Platform of the Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB). This will also ensure recognition of the guarantee of origin issued in another EU member state as well as holding the auctions for unused guarantees that OKTE, a.s., will place on its trading platform.
