The popularity of green energy is still growing. Companies, also individuals, want to declare that their electricity is generated from renewable sources of energy.

One of the possibilities for declaration is to obtain certificate of origin of electricity that provides evidence of the source of energy. In such a complex process it is necessary to have information system, which will enable secure and transparent communication for all involved parties.

The register of certificates of origin of electricity has been in the full competence of JSC OKTE since January 1st, 2020. The market operator issues certificates on the basis of recorded data of electrical energy production, ensures data transfer between market parties, and regulates the way in which they are used.

JSC OKTE has also become a member of the EU institution - the Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB). As an issuing body, it is appointed to take responsibility for ensuring certificate transfer among the EU member states. To join the AIB, JSC OKTE was needed to prove technical preparation of the information system and to ensure its connection to the international AIB Hub.

The information system for certificates of origin of electricity XMtrade^®/ZPE was developed by JSC SFÉRA. At the beginning of April 2020, its full functionality was also verified by the first transfers of AIB certificates from foreign countries, namely from the Czech Republic.
