On March 20, 2026, SFÉRA, a.s. signed an agreement with the Ministry of Investment, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic for the provision of funding from the Recovery and Resilience Facility for the project Digital Auction Platform for Trading Guarantees of Origin – DIANA. The project is implemented under Call No. 17I04-04-V05 for the submission of applications for funding to support research and development in the field of digital transformation of Slovakia 2.
The project is funded by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU instrument in order to implement part of Investment 4 – Support for projects aimed at the development and application of cutting-edge digital technologies within Component 17 Digital Slovakia, as part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic. It addresses the current need to digitalize auction-based trading processes for guarantees of origin of energy generated from renewable energy sources (RES).
The subject of the project is the development of a digital software platform for announcing and organizing auctions of guarantees of origin, which will be accessible to all national registries within the European market. The system has the potential to relieve market participants in the guarantees of origin market from the demanding administrative burden associated with negotiating and executing transactions, their physical and financial settlement, and to enable participation in a more accessible way even for smaller market players, such as producers with small renewable energy sources.
This will contribute to increased transparency and liquidity in the market, fair price formation, more efficient use and cancellation of guarantees of origin, and will indirectly support the use of renewable energy sources within Slovakia and the EU. The developed auction platform software product will be validated and demonstrated in a relevant environment at a selected operator of a guarantees of origin registry, corresponding to the planned final TRL 6 level at the end of the project.

Project Objective
The objective of the project is the experimental development of a prototype digital platform for the operation of a common market for guarantees of origin of energy produced from renewable energy sources (RES), which will ensure access for all national registries within the EU and thus enable the announcement and organization of auctions for trading guarantees of origin at a pan-European level.
The objective will be achieved through two activities:
- Development of the information system, the output of which will be a Detailed Design of the information system;
- Deployment, verification and demonstration of the information system, resulting in a prototype of the information system and Technical Documentation of the IS
